Name, email address, supporter preferences, guest suggestions, idea submissions, and messages you send to us.

Support, membership, and referrals

For supporters, members, and affiliates, we keep the PayPal order, subscription, and transaction references, payment cadence, support or membership offering, payment and refund status, membership status where applicable, referral code used, commission amounts and status, payout records, and statement-delivery history. This accounting information is retained as needed for financial, tax, fraud-prevention, and legal records. A referring affiliate can see commission information about their own account, but not another person’s payment credentials.

When tax documentation is required, we track W-9 status, tax classification, mailing information, and limited identifiers needed for reporting. Full taxpayer-identification documents must be delivered through the designated secure process; this public website does not intentionally store full Social Security numbers or payment credentials.

Guest suggestions and research

When you suggest a guest, the nominee’s name, professional website, email address when provided, and your optional note are stored for the show team. An authorized administrator may use Codex through the show’s existing ChatGPT access to research public web sources and prepare a fit assessment. That assessment supports editorial review; it does not make the final guest decision. The Codex research brief includes the nominee’s name, professional website, and optional nomination note; it does not include the nominee’s submitted email address or the nominator’s contact information. We do not publish a nominee’s submitted email address. To prevent spam, we temporarily keep a one-way hash of the submitting connection address.

Guest promotion links

When someone opens a guest-specific interview link, we record the visit time and an anonymous browser identifier so we can report total visits and approximate unique browsers. Clicking the link does not tell us the visitor’s name, email address, or how many private messages the guest sent.

How information may be used

To send requested updates and statements, respond to submissions, evaluate potential guests, operate member access, administer referrals and payouts, reconcile and preserve financial records, meet tax obligations, measure promotion, improve the platform, and protect it from misuse.

Payments and account services

Making a Better World operates under the umbrella of Free Dominion Foundation. Making a Better World provides the support and membership checkout, and PayPal processes payments for Free Dominion Foundation. The checkout presents the amount and renewal terms before approval. We receive transaction references and status from PayPal so our records can be reconciled without storing payment-card details.

You may unsubscribe from promotional updates at any time. Transactional membership, statement, security, and tax messages may still be sent while needed to administer your account or comply with law. To request access, correction, or deletion where applicable, email info@makingabetterworld.media.
